Govenors Club

Sorry we are experiencing system issues. Please try again.

The Govenors Club is one of the only gated communities in The Triangle.  It is located just south of Chapel Hill in Chatham County.  The Governors Club has both a golf club and a tennis and swim club.  You do not have to be members of either to live there.   If you are a golfer though, you have come to the right place because the Governors Club has an outstanding 27-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course.  Most people don’t realize it but the Governors club is the highest point in the Piedmont.  There are absolutely outstanding views of the countryside from throughout the Governors Club.  And, if you love to walk, people walk the the golf course all the time.  It is quite challenging and an excellent work out.

Regarding the golf and tennis options, there are different types of memberships, a full golf and tennis membership, a tennis membership or a social membership.  There is both an indoor and outdoor pool and a wonderful exercise facility in pool clubhouse.

While most people consider the Governors Club a part of Chapel Hill it is actually located in Chatham County and not Orange County which is where the Chapel Hill downtown area is located. That being said, when looking for Governors Club information, addresses and tee times for the golf course you will find that almost everyone considers this a part of Chapel Hill.

Over the years names like Michael Jordan, Dean Smith and Roy Williams have been associated with the Governors Club. The homes are immaculate and the golf course is phenominal. If you are looking to move into a home that is in excess of one million dollars in the Chapel Hill area you will definitely want to consider the Governors Club. Feel free to reach out to Real Estate Experts for more information on homes for sale in the Governors Club neighborhood.

Note that the golf course at the Governors Club is private and cannot be access by the public. To play the course you will need to know a member. There is also a small shopping center located just outside the Governors Club so you won’t have to travel more than a few miles to get groceries and a bite to eat.
